The Avondale Fire Company was dispatched at 1157 hours for an accident with unknown injuries in front of 1030 Newark Road. The call was then upgraded to an accident with entrapment. Past Chief Decker and Junior Firefighter Cole arrived right after the dispatch finding one truck on its side with an ejection. Past Chief Decker began patient care, while Firefighter Cole checked for hazards. Rescue 23 with a crew of 5 (Lieuntent Ianni) arrived, securing the truck and assisting EMS with patient care. Fire Police shut down Newark Road at Hillendale Road and at Maple Lane. The rescue crew helped Blittersdorf's towing with sweeping the road.
