This week, the Avondale Fire Company's training was pumping and pulling a draft out of a porta-tank. The port-a-tank is carried on the tanker and is used in water supply operations on large fires. The port-a-tank holds up to 3500 gallons of water. This training allowed drivers to practice their pump skills and firefighters to flow some hand-lines. It also allowed some newer members to see how to set up and use the port-a-tank.
Training is key in the fire service!
