The Avondale Fire Company was dispatched at 2055 hours for an oven on fire in the 200 block of Starr Road. Engine 23-1 went responding right after dispatch and was advised that the fire was out but it was caused by a gas leak. Engine 23-1's crew arrived with a two story house and nothing showing. Chief 23 established the Starr Road Command. The engine crew pulled the stove away from the wall and checked for extension. No extension was found. Crews set up a PPV fan at the front door to positive pressure the house for the gas smell. Units returned at 2130 hours.
