On Friday, November 25th, the Avondale Fire Company started the day with a cardiac arrest on Line Road at 0756 hours.
Then, at 1036 hours the Avondale Fire Company was dispatched to the 200 block of Buttonwood Road. Chief 23 responded and received the report of a black SUV striking a pole and not blocking the roadway. Chief 23 arrived to find one vehicle into a driveway after striking the pole. Rescue 23 and Squad 23 arrived and secured the hazards and cleaned debris off of the road. Fire Police closed the road between Newark and Broad Run Road. Final unit cleared around 1130 hours.
After that, the company was dispatched along with medic 194 for a motorcycle accident on Gap Newport Pike. 23-30 was first to arrive and advised he had a motorcycle down in the roadway. 23-30 requested Route 41 be closed at Route 1. Chief 23 arrived and established Route 41 command. Rescue 23 arrived and assisted with patient care and cleaning debris off the roadway. Ambulance 23-2 with medic 194 transported to Christiana Hospital. Final units cleared around 1430 hours.
Then, the Avondale Fire Company was dispatched for an accident on the Route 1 bypass. Ambulance 23 and Rescue 23 made the response and were advised that a car ran off the side of the road and stopped. Ambulance 23-2 arrived in the area and searched. Nothing was found and everything cleared.
Lastly, the company was dispatched at 2224 hours for an accident at the intersection of Baltimore Pike and Chambers Road. Ambulance 23-2 responded and received information of a vehicle that ran into a building. Ambulance 23-2 arrived and advised one vehicle into a parked vehicle in a local business parking lot. Rescue 23 arrived and provided lighting and checked the vehicle for hazards. Rescue 23 provided lighting for a little more than an hour and cleared soon after.
