Avondale Fire Company is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Part-time Firefighter/EMT. Found in 1887, Avondale Fire Company provides fire and emergency medical services to the residents of Avondale Borough, New Garden, and parts of London Grove, London Britain, Franklin, and West Marlborough Townships. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Firefighter/EMT position is a professional first responder role. The following are primary duties and responsibilities: • Provide protection to life and property by responding to fire emergencies, alarms, accidents or calls for service by functioning as a firefighter, EMT, driver, pump operator, and/or initial company officer. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty as previously outlined. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully serve as a Firefighter/EMT: • Must be 21years old prior to hire date EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: • Possess a High School Diploma or GED Equivalency; (Associates degree or higher preferred) SALARY INFORMATION: AFC offers an excellent competitive salary rate for Part-time employees. Any applicant who is given a conditional offer of employment must receive a negative drug test prior to performing job duties for the Avondale Fire Company. If the pre-duty test result is positive, then the conditional offer shall be revoked.
