The Avondale Fire Company participated in the annual fire prevention week from 10/8-10/14. Engine 23-1 visited the following schools: New Garden Early Care and Education Center, Bancroft Elementary, Westtown Children's Academy, Tick Tock Early Learning Center, Tommy Tinkers, and New Garden Elementary. The crews showed the students the fire engine, demonstrated putting on proper protective equipment, and taught them how to dial 9-1-1. Engine 23-1 spent about an hour at each school. Remember in case of an emergency, dial 9-1-1 instead of the fire station.
