The Avondale Fire Company along with Hockessin, West Grove, and Union of Oxford (RIT) were dispatched to the 100 block of Waterfall Lane at 2223 hours. Deputy 23 responded soon after dispatch with the report of a possible entrapment and the incident was upgraded to add additional BLS & ALS units. Ladder 19 stated they had a column of smoke from Starr Road, Deputy 23 upgraded once again to start the working fire dispatch which added Rescue 27 for AIR and the Chester County Fire Marshals along with PECO Gas and Electric. Engine 23-1 was first arriving on the scene with smoke showing from a 2 ½ story single family dwelling. Engine 23-1's crew split up putting a hand-line in service and knocking down the bulk of fire. While the second crew handled the primary search, and extricated 2 patients from inside the house. Due to the lack of manpower, command added two additional engines which added Kennett and Po-Mar-Lin of Unionville. Ladder 19 arrived putting multiple ground ladders around the building and put a ladder to the roof. Ladder 19 ventilated the roof and soon after the fire was put under control. Crews had extensive overhaul to complete. EMS units did transport the two victims to the hospital. Avondale units along with mutual aid companies cleared around 0200 hours.

Special thanks to Lancaster County Tanker 52-1 (Christina) and Engine 25-2 (Longwood) for covering the Avondale Local while units operated on this incident.
