Banquet Standby Runs

The Avondale Fire Company attended their annual banquet on November 11th, 2017 at the Red Clay Room 1800-2300 hours.

Wagontown Rescue 35 and Lancaster Tanker 52 were dispatched around 0030 hours for a reported accident in the 1300 block of Newark Road. Acting Chief 23 (D. Bisson), Rescue 35, and Lancaster Tanker 52 went responding with the report that the reporting party heard the accident and wasn’t sure the exact location. Units arrived in the area to check and found nothing. Units cleared shortly after dispatch.

Early Sunday morning, November 12th around 0730 hours the Avondale Fire Company along with the standby crews were dispatched for an odor investigation outside in the 100 block of Center Street. Acting Chief 23 (D. Bisson), Rescue 35, and Lancaster Tanker 52 went responding shortly after dispatch. Chester County Fire Board updated the responding units with the report of smoke coming from a chimney and a burning odor. Acting Chief, Tanker 52, and Rescue 35 arrived with smoke from the chimney. Crews saw fire inside which caused them to force entry into the residence and search for a source. Crews found a heater malfunction and cleared shortly after.

Standby crews cleared around 0830 hours.
