The Cochranville Fire Company along with West Grove, Avondale, Oxford, and Longwood for RIT were dispatched to a house fire in the 600 block of Street Road at 0750 hours. Engine 27-2 was the first to arrive and the crew found a well involved house with exposure to woods. Engine 27-2 laid a line up the driveway while Engine 23-1 (second arriving engine) took the supply to the scene. Ladder 22 was the first arriving truck taking the driveway along with Engine 27-2 and prepared for master stream operations. Engine 23-1’s crew protected the nearby tree line from burning with a 1.75” line. Crews operated for two hours before assisting in breaking down the 5” supply line. Avondale Fire Police closed Street Road at Gap Newport Pike due to multiple handlines and supply line in the roadway.
