The Avondale Fire Company sadly announces the passing of Past Chief Jim Decker SR.

Jim, a 53 year lifetime member, joined on June 8th, 1965. Jim was elected to Chief of the department in 1987. In addition, he held the rank of Assistant Chief for 15 years, Chief Engineer, Trustee and numerous other roles. After stepping down as Fire Chief, Jim remained close as he was the driver of the first responding apparatus for well over 16 years.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 20th at 1 PM at the Avondale Fire Company with fellowship to follow. Dress will be Class A uniform. Any questions should be directed to Fire Chief Steve Cole at 610-268-2486.
