Just after midnight on Saturday, the Avondale Fire Company was dispatched to the intersection of Broad Run Road and Eden Drive for a brush fire. As crews were responding to the firehouse, dispatch reported a vehicle on fire at the same location. Engine 23-1 arrived on the scene and found a vehicle approximately 450 feet into a field that was fully involved. Crews deployed the 300" crosslay and added additional hose in order to reach the fire. The fire was extinguished and placed under control approximately 15 minutes after the engine's arrival. The crew cleared the incident shortly after 0200 hours.
