The Avondale Fire Company was dispatched to call the 9-1-1 center for a reported public service call. The dispatcher advised a mower slid down an embankment with a patient on it. With the notes, Rescue 23 was staffed and took in the response. The crew arrived to find a mower down a 5-10’ embankment. Crews began stabilization on the mower by box cribbing the front of the mower under the deck. Crews then placed the rescue truck winch into service to keep the front of the mower stable. Crews placed a 14’ roof ladder in service and assisted the patient to the ladder. Due to the patient having bad knees, he was not able to walk up the ladder. Crews lifted the ladder to assist the victim to the roadway. Extrication was complete with-in 20 minutes of the rescue's arrival.
