Avondale Borough Accident/ Faggs Manor Road Fire

On December 2nd, shortly after 1730hrs, Avondale Fire Company and Medic 94 were dispatched for an auto accident with one subject with chest pains. Chief 23 and Ambulance 23-1 arrived to find three vehicles partially blocking Pennsylvania Avenue at Fifth Street in the Avondale Borough. Rescue 23 arrived and handled hazards and clearing debris from the roadway. EMS advised no injuries and cleared the scene. All three vehicles were then moved to a nearby parking lot. Shortly before crews were clearing this incident the Cochranville Fire Company was dispatched for a chimney fire that was upgraded to a residential fire. The caller advised there was fire in the walls. With the upgrade, Stations 23, 21 (Oxford), 22 (West Grove), and 25 (Longwood) were added. Crews responded to Faggs Manor Road to assist the Cochranville Fire Company. Rescue 23 arrived as the 2nd due engine and was assigned to assist with fire suppression on the D side exterior. Crews also assisted with opening the roof around the chimney. Chief 23 was tasked with accountability and manpower sectors.
Shortly after the fire was placed under control, 23 units cleared the scene and returned available at 1907hrs.
