On Thursday May 8th, officers of the Avondale Fire Company traveled to Wagontown Fire Company for the 2014 Spring Fire 1 graduation. Hoseman Joey Swift, Firefighter Matt Biondi, and Firefighter/EMT Connor Hotchkiss all completed over a 180 hours of training over the past couple months to receive their certification to be an interior firefighter.

The Firefighter 1 class covers all the basic requirements to be a firefighter. The class was trained in many different aspects of firefighting including the proper way of riding on a firetruck to going inside a burning building.

The officer and members of the Avondale Fire Company would like to congratulate Joey, Matt and Connor for completing this training course and remind them that this is only the beginning of their training in the fire service.
