May 17, 2014
On Wednesday, May 7th, 2014, the members of the Avondale Fire Company and the Kennett Fire Company used the Southern Chester County Fire Chief's Fireblast live burn simulator. With this simulator, firefighters can practice multiple skills that may need to be used at any time during an actual fire event such as: Ventilation, Search and Rescue, Fire Attack and Hand Line Advancement. It also allows for some touching up on radio communication skills and crew communication. On this particular training night members from both stations practiced multiple scenarios such as: First Floor Fire Attack, Basement Fire Attack, Hydraulic Ventilation, and Rescue of a Downed Firefighter.
