On Wednesday, July 30th,2014 the members of the Avondale Fire Company went to Blittersdorf's salvage yard in Toughkenamon to practice their Vehicle Rescue skills. Blittersdorf's set up 3 vehicles, 1 on its wheels, 1 on its side, and 1 on its roof. Crews practiced stabilization using wood cribbing and rescue struts, along with patient extrication using our " Jaws of Life" and some hand tools.
A special thank you to Mike and Tom Blittersdorf, the owners of Blittersdorf's towing, for donating vehicles, and allowing us to use their yard for this training.
