The Avondale Fire Company along with Medic 94 were dispatched to an accident with entrapment on Route 41 at the Route 1 bypass. Chief 23 (Cole), Ambulance 23 and the Medics made a quick response and was given updated information that it was a box truck and a tractor trailer with the driver still in the box truck. Ambulance 23-1 was first to arrive and updated the address to Route 41 at Woodview Road. Chief 23 went on scene taking the Route 41 command and confirming one occupant trapped. The rescue crew arrived and popped the box truck's door and did a dash roll. Fire Police shut down Route 41 while crews operated. Crews worked quickly to get the occupant out of the box truck. Extrication was complete in 20 minutes from dispatch. Crews stayed to assist Blittersdorf Towing and the Pennsylvania State Police.
