Pick-up Truck Fire

The Avondale Fire Company was dispatched to the 300 block of Scarlett Road for a reported automobile fire on 1-24-16 at 1329 hours. Chief (Bessicks) went responding and the CCFB advised they were receiving reports of flames from the engine compartment. Lieutenant 23 (Ianni) arrived to find a pick-up truck well involved and snow creating an access problem. Chief 23 arrived shortly after and established the command. Command had Engine 23-1 (R. Franks) pull an 1 ¾ hand line for fire suppression. Tanker 23 (B. Cole) arrived and supplied Engine 23-1, while their crew made a quick knock on the fire. The incident was placed under control at 1356 hours. Crews cleared the incident and returned to quarters at 1408 hours.
