Accident Reported with Entrapment on Route 41

The Avondale Fire Company along with Medic 94 and Rescue 22 were dispatched at 0735 hours for an accident with reported entrapment. Ambulance 23-1 and Assistant 23 made a quick response and received the report of five vehicles involved that included a truck over the embankment and one subject trapped. Ambulance 23-1 arrived with multiple vehicles blocking the road. After further investigation they advised there was no entrapment and requested 2 more BLS units bringing Ambulances 22-1 and 24-1. Assistant 23 arrived establishing “41 command” and requested fire police from 23, 22 and 27 to close Route 41 at Route 1 and Route 841. The additional EMS units arrived and assisted with patient care. Rescue 23 arrived and assisted EMS with package of the patients and hazards. All EMS units transported to Christiana Hospital. Rescue 23's crew remained on the scene to assist with debris removal and traffic control. Final units cleared at 0930 hours.
