Accident with Entrapment

On Saturday, July 9th, the Avondale Fire Company was dispatched to an accident at the intersection of Ewart and Limestone Roads. Ambulance 23-1 went responding and was advised incident was being upraded to entrapment, adding Medic 94 to the assignment. Deputy 23 arrived with one vehicle into a ditch with two trapped. NGPD asked for Blittersdorf towing ASAP to assist the fire department with the extrication. Deputy 23 requested Rescue 19 (Hockessin) for assistance. Rescue 23 arrived and was instructed to crib the car and take the passenger door off the car. Engine 23-1 and Rescue 19 crews arrived and assisted Rescue 23's crew with cutting the A and B corner of the car. Extrication was complete at 1141 hours. Crews assisted Blittersdorf Towing with debris in the roadway.
