The Avondale Fire Company was dispatched at 1505 hours to the Route 1 Bypass for a reported brush fire. Engine 23-2 with a crew of 4 as well as Tanker 23 responded at 1507 hours. Multiple calls were received reporting multiple spots of brush on fire on the shoulder of the bypass. Rescue 23 responded soon after the engine at 1508 with 3 personnel. Engine 2 arrived to find a total of 4 different places burning on the shoulder. The crew from Engine 2 split and began fire attack. The rescue crew arrived and assisted the engine crew. The fire was placed under control at 1522 hours. The final units cleared around 1600 hours.
