Accident with Entrapment

On November 20th, Avondale Fire Company along with Medic 94 was dispatched for an accident with entrapment and fire at 1530 hours. Medic 94-2 was first to arrive and advised a car was overturned with one heavily trapped and the car smoking. Chief 23 (Cole) arrived and established the Baltimore Pike Command and requested fire police to close Baltimore Pike at both ends of Lake Road. Command also advised there was no fire hazard to the vehicle. Rescue 23 (B. Cole) arrived and preformed stabilization along with vehicle extrication. Additional manpower was requested by command which brought Engine 22-1 staffed with 4 to assist. Engine 22-1's crew manned the 1 3/4" hand-line while Rescue 23's crew handled vehicle extrication. Crews removed the driver side vehicle door and had to cut the seat out of the vehicle. Extrication was marked complete at 1544 hours.

Final units cleared at 1645 hours.
