Just before 3AM on Friday, August 7th, Avondale Fire Company was dispatched to assist Cochranville Fire Company Station 27 on a barn fire. Deputy Chief Null arrived to find a two-story barn fully engulfed in fire. Cochranville’s Engine 27-2 arrived as the first due engine and laid a water supply line from the end of the driveway. Avondale's Engine 23-1 arrived shortly thereafter as the second due engine. Crews from Engine 23-1 pulled a 300' 1¾” handline to the "C" side of the structure and assisted with fire suppression. The roof of the barn collapsed so West Grove’s Ladder 22 used the ladder pipe to fight the fire from above.

Engine 1, Tanker, Rescue, Squad and Traffic 23 all assisted at this early morning call.

Fire Police assisted in road closures around the scene.

Special thanks to Modena Engine 37-1 for the standby during this incident and Chesco Fire Rescue Photography for the photos.
