One Vehicle Accident with Entrapment

Just after 1800 hrs. on Sunday, September 13th, Avondale Fire Company was dispatched to the area of Church Road and Bevan Blvd. in New Garden Township for a one-car accident with reports of two patients trapped in the vehicle. Ambulance 23 arrived and confirmed the report of two patients trapped in the vehicle. The ambulance crew also reported that the vehicle struck a guardrail and the guardrail had gone through the backseat of the vehicle. Within five minutes of arriving on scene, crews on Rescue 23 stabilized the vehicle and removed the driver's side door which allowed the patients to exit the vehicle. Firefighters also assisted Blittersdorf's Towing with the removal of the guardrail and vehicle. Ambulance 23 and Medic 94 transported two patients to a local hospital. Fire Police closed roads near the accident scene while the rescue and cleanup operations were taking place. Crews cleared the scene around 1930 hrs.
