On Saturday, February 27th, the Avondale Fire Company was dispatched for mutual aid to assist West Grove Fire Company on a house fire on Ledum Run Road in Penn Township. Avondale's Engine 23-1 immediately responded with a crew of six.

West Grove's Chief arrived on location to find smoke showing from the roof. West Grove's Rescue was the first engine to arrive and laid a supply line from a nearby hydrant. Engine 23-1 arrived and secured Rescue 22's hydrant to boost the pressure and sent the crew to the manpower pool. The crew from Engine 23-1 was tasked with checking the attic for fire extension, however, no extension was found. Avondale's crew assisted with wrapping up hose lines before being released by Command.
