The Avondale Fire Company was dispatched to assist the Kennett Fire Company with a garage fire on Nine Gates Roads at 1910 hours. Chief 24 arrived to find a fully involved 2 story detached garage. With the lack of hydrants in the area, Chief 24 requested the first alarm tanker task force. Engine 25-2 arrived and laid their supply line up the driveway. Engine 24 arrived and picked up engine 25-2's supply line and supplied water from the road to the scene. Engine 23-1 arrived as the fourth due engine. Engine 23-1's crew was assigned to the roof of the Charlie side to open up the roof for ventilation. Engine 23-2 arrived and assisted with fire suppression. Tanker 23 also responded and assisted in water supply by hauling water from a hydrant to the fire scene. The fire was placed under control and Avondale crews assisted in overhaul and clean up. Crews cleared around 2230 hours
