The Avondale Fire Company along with Rescue-Engine 19 and Medic 94 were dispatched for an auto accident with entrapment in the 6700 block of Limestone Road. Units responded upon dispatch due to an in-house duty crew. Deputy 23 and Assistant 19 arrived to a 2 vehicle collision and confirmed one patient trapped in a sedan. Engine 23-1 arrived and split the crew. One crew stretched an attack handline while the other part of the crew began vehicle extrication. Due to Rescue 23 being out of service, crews from Squad 23 and Rescue-Engine 19 assisted with vehicle extrication. Extrication was marked complete within 6 minutes of the arrival of Engine 23-1. Fire police closed Route 7 at Route 41 and Southwood Road. Crew assisted Blittersdorf’s towing with debris on the roadway and removal of the vehicle before being released.

EMS transported one victim to a local hospital.

Chief 23 established Avondale command.
Deputy 23 handled the operations sector of the incident.
