On Wednesday, October 27th, apparatus and members from fire companies around the region attended a walk-through open house event at Avondale Fire Company. Members from Kennett, Longwood, Po-Mar-Lin, West Grove, and Avondale, as well as officers from the Southern Chester County Regional Police Department and the Pennsylvania State Police, gathered to engage with the community. Visitors were greeted by friendly faces of firefighters, EMTs, and police officers who had their emergency vehicles, tools, and equipment on display. In the spirit of Halloween, buckets of candy were at each emergency vehicle. Before the open house event, AFC Captain Steve Nuse oversaw a children's car seat safety check for the public in our engine bay. Trained professionals verified the proper and safe installation of children's car seats in vehicles.
