Avondale Fire Company was dispatched for an engine and tanker at 7:10pm on Christmas Eve to assist Singerly Fire Company on a working barn fire in Elkton, MD. Since our volunteers had an in-house duty crew, Rescue 23 responded on dispatch. Crews arrived and had to walk over half of a mile to get to the scene. The Rescue crew assisted with overhaul for several hours before being released. Tanker 23 transported water to the scene from a fill site. Squad 23 also responded with additional manpower.
