The Avondale Fire Company was dispatched to assist the Longwood Fire Company (Station 25) on a working house fire on Sills Mill Road at 1226 hours. Due to the in-station duty crew, Engine 23-2 and Tanker 23 responded on dispatch. Engine 23-2 arrived and finished the reverse lay from the scene to the Bayard Estates neighborhood. Crews laid over 3000 feet of supply line to assist with water supply. Engine 23-2 reported back to the scene and provided manpower. Tanker 23 initially assisted with water supply while a permanent supply was being established. Tanker 23 was released and relocated to Kennett Fire Company (Station 24).

While the Engine and Tanker were responding to the 25 call, Engine 23-1 was alerted at 1230 hours to assist West Grove Fire Company on a working garage/house fire in New London Township. Engine 23-1’s crew assisted with overhaul on the scene of this fire before being released. Traffic 23 also assisted West Grove Fire Company.

Traffic 23 was then requested at 1400 hours to Doe Run Road and Unicorn Lane to assist the State Police with traffic control on a property damage accident.

At 1900 hours, Rescue and Traffic 23 were alerted for traffic control and operated on an accident at Gap Newport Pike and Limestone Road.
