The Avondale Fire Company was dispatched to assist West Grove Fire Company on a commercial building fire reported as a mushroom house. Lieutenant 22-B (Burns) arrived to a one story mushroom house with smoke showing and added the working fire dispatch. Engine 23-2 along with Engine 23-1, Squad, and Traffic all responded to assist. Engine 23-2 arrived as the third due engine and set up the initial RIT before taking a second hand-line to the rear of the structure. Engine 23-2’s crew stretched the 300’ line off Engine 22-2. Additional crews from Avondale assisted with roof operations, interior operations, overhaul, and traffic control. The fire was placed under control soon after.
