On Saturday, November 5th, the members and career staff of Avondale Fire Company traveled to the West Chester Fire Training Complex on Snyder Avenue. The department attended their annual burn day, which consists of practicing skills under live fire conditions. Chief Cole directed the days' efforts and was assisted by firefighters from Po-Mar-Lin Fire Company to keep the fire burning. Evolutions included simulated basement fires, building fires with victims entrapped, and multiple fires inside one structure. Firefighters from the Po-Mar-Lin Fire Company assisted Avondale by stoking the fires, so Avondale crews could train together. We would like to thank Lancaster County Tanker 52 (Christiana) for covering the Avondale area while crews trained. See following story for additional information. |
