While the station duty crew was just getting settled into the evening, the company was dispatched for a reported vehicle accident in the 1600 Block of Newark Road in West Marlborough Township. Chief, Deputy, Rescue, Traffic and the Ambulance responded on dispatch. Chester County Fireboard notified crews that the nature of the incident was a sedan versus a farm tractor. While crews were enroute, Chief 36 (Griffith), arrived on location and reported one subject trapped in the driver's seat. Due to a subject trapped in a vehicle, Medic 94 was alerted to assist.
Rescue 23 arrived and crews stabilized the vehicle with auto cribbing to prevent the vehicle from possibly moving. Crews used the Hurst spreader tool to pop open the driver's side door. Crews were successful in freeing the patient. Ambulance 23 and Medic 94-2's crews treated and transported the driver to a local trauma center.
Rescue 36 also made the response to the scene and assisted Avondale crews with additional lighting.
Engine 23-1 and Medic 94-1 were cleared from the incident.
Crews awaited Nulls Towing to remove the sedan while the tractor pulled off the road.

Incident command was handled by Chief 23.
