Officers Attend Step Up and Lead Training

On Saturday, February 5th, five AFC Officers left Avondale at 0600 hours and headed for the Twin Valley High School to participate in the Step Up and Lead Leadership Skills training class hosted by the Honey Brook Fire Company.

Once at the high school, AFC's officers were greeted by officers and members from the Honey Brook Fire Company.
AFC's officers also met up with other officers and members from various departments.

Participants reported to the auditorium at 0800 hours, where Kearny NJ Fire Department's retired Deputy Chief Frank Viscuso spoke on various issues such as: controlling the controllable, becoming a better leader, leadership principals, leadership roles, self confidence, becoming a better individual, mentorship, how to solve problems with-in the organization and out, recruitment and retention, personal reflection, critiquing members and incidents, and other issues with-in the fire services.

Class wrapped up around 1500 hours and officers returned back to Avondale.

The officers would like to thank Past Chief Frank Viscuso for taking time to come out and present this class.
