Second Due Engine to Box 2232

On Sunday afternoon, at 1601 hours, the Avondale Fire Company was alerted as automatic mutual aid to assist West Grove on a reported structure fire on Treetops Road in London Britain Township.
The Engine, Tanker and Chief made the response with-in seconds of the dispatch.
Battalion 22 made the response, and received Information that "the front of the house had flames coming from it and the homeowner was trying to extinguish them with a garden hose."
At 1614 hours, New Castle Squad 9 and Chief 23 arrived to find nothing showing from the 2-story structure.
Engine 23-1 arrived as the second due engine, split laying their LDH from White Oak and Treetops Roads.
Chief 23 with the crew from Squad 9 determined there was a fire on the front of the structure and that the homeowner had the fire extinguished prior to our arrival.
Chief 23 advised Battalion 22 of the situation.
Battalion 22 advised Engine 23-1 to stop laying the LDH and reduced the incident down to units on the scene.
Minor over-haul was done in the area of the structure where the fire was.
Units cleared at 1630 hours.
