At 0753 hours, Avondale Fire Company and surrounding mutual aid companies were dispatched to the 100 Block of Jackson Avenue in West Grove Borough for a reported house fire.
Engine and Ambulance 23 made the response right after dispatch. While 23 units were responding, 22 units arrived on the scene and reported smoke from the basement. Squad 23 made the response as Engine 23 arrived as the second due engine. Engine 23 laid a second supply from the hydrant on Jackson Avenue to the scene.
Engine 23's crew assisted with stretching an attack line into the basement, extinguishing the fire and checking for any extension. When Squad 23's crew arrived, they were tasked with setting up ventilation at the front door.
After the situation was placed under control, crews from Avondale assisted with repacking the supply line back onto Engine 22-1 and were released from the scene shortly after.
