At 2225 hours, the Avondale Fire Company along with Tanker 52 from Christiana Lancaster County and West Grove EMS who was covering the Avondale district while members attended their annual banquet dinner, responded to the intersection of Limestone Road and Ewart Road in New Garden township for an auto accident.

Ambulance 231 (with WGFC employees), Deputy 23, and Tanker 52 made the response after dispatch and were notified by Chester County Fireboard that the accident was involving two vehicles with one patient with a hand injury. Upon arrival, crews found a pick-up truck and an SUV blocking the intersection. Deputy 23 established 'Avondale Command' for the duration of the incident.

Traffic 23 responded soon after and provided traffic control around the incident for scene safety. Crews cleaned up debris scattered across the roadway as well as checking for hazards in and out of the vehicles.

Crews then awaited for the arrival of Blittesdorf towing to clear the vehicles from the roadway. Once the vehicles were picked up, Traffic 23 reopened the roadway and Deputy 23 terminated 'Avondale Command' and all units cleared at 2321 hours.

** A special thank you to the crew of Tanker 52 for once again providing coverage to the Avondale Fire Company while members spent the evening celebrating **
