Mill Road House Fire

February 18, 2026

At 1212 hours, the Avondale Fire Company, along with surrounding mutual aid, were dispatched to the 500 block of Mill Road in East Marlborough Township for a residential structure fire.

Squad 23 responded with a crew of 4 after dispatch, followed by Utility 23 with additional personnel. Longwood's Engine 25-1 arrived first and confirmed that there was fire showing from the residence. Squad 23 arrived as the third-due engine and were tasked with stretching an additional attack line to the residence.

Upon entry with the attack line, crews conducted a primary search of the basement division utilizing thermal imaging cameras, which yielded negative results. Due to worsening fire conditions on the floor above, crews were ordered to back out of the structure. From the exterior, crews used the attack line to extinguish the fire from the Alpha/Delta corner. Squad's crew also deployed a ground ladder on the Alpha/Delta corner to further attack the fire from a window.

During the incident, Traffic 23 made the response to assist with traffic control and was positioned at W Locust Lane & Fairthorne Drive.

After the bulk of the fire had been extinguished, Squad 23 re-entered the basement division to assess the need for overhaul; none was required. Crews then assisted in breaking down multiple attack and supply lines from Engines 25-1 and 24.

All crews cleared at 1525 hours without incident.
