| At 1743 hours, the Avondale Fire Company and Medic 94 were dispatched to the 100 Block of Scarlett Road in New Garden Township for a reported auto accident involving fire. A reporting party originally stated that there were flames coming from one of the involved vehicles. Chief, Ambulance, Squad 23, and Medic 94-2 made the response. Chester County Fire Board updated Chief 23 that someone on location used a fire extinguisher to extinguish the fire, at that there were up to 3 patients. Chief 23 requested an additional BLS and ALS unit to the scene. This brought in an ambulance and MICU (Mobile Intensive Care Unit) from Longwood Fire Company. 60PD arrived first on location confirming the update but stated the vehicle still needed to be soaked down for precautionary measures. Chief 23 arrived, confirming 2 vehicles head-on, with 2 patients down in the field. Squad 23 arrived on location splitting their crew; one half of the crew began stabilizing the vehicles and the other half of the crew pulled the booster reel line to soak down the engine compartment of one of the involved vehicles. Upon Blittersdorf Towing taking the involved vehicles and leaving the scene, Chief 23 had Scarlett Road reopened. AFC units cleared the incident at 1934 hours. Chief Cole held Scarlett Road command. |
