At 0742 hours, the Avondale Fire Company was dispatched to the 500 Block of Church Road in New Garden Township for a reported box truck on fire at a local mushroom house.
The Squad, Ambulance, and Chief made the response right after dispatch with the Tanker following shortly after. Units were advised by the Chester County Fire Board that the Southern Chester County Regional PD were on location with a commercial box truck with the cab fully involved in flames.
Units arrived and went into service with a 200 foot 1" 3/4 attack line while Chief 23 established Avondale Command. Tanker 23 arrived shortly after and provided the Squad additional water. The bulk of the fire was knocked down and the incident was placed under control 0753 hours with crews checking the rest of the truck for additional hotspots and/or fire extension to the rest of the vehicle.
After crews completed their final soak downs of the cab and engine compartment, Chief 23 broke down command and cleared the assignment at 0820 hours and turned the incident over to the business.
