| At 1256 hours, the Avondale Fire Company along with Hockessin EMS were dispatched to the 700 Block of Newark Road in New Garden Township for a reported two vehicle accident.
Chief and Squad 23 made the response with Chief 23 arriving first, finding a two-vehicle accident. One of the involved vehicles had struck the mushroom house leaving a wide opening in the wall. Chief 23 added Medic 94-2 for one patient having chest pain. The Squad was ordered to split their crew with their EMT(s) beginning patient care, and the other half securing all involved vehicles as well as inspecting the damage to the exterior wall caused by the impact.
Chief 23 advised Fireboard that there was no need for any additional units or the county collapse team as the property owners advised they were going to handle the structural damage.
Hockessin EMS transported one patient to a local hospital.
