Accident With Entrapment

The Avondale Fire Company along with West Grove Ambulance and SCCEMS (Medic 94) were alerted at 1529 hours for an accident with entrapment in the 800 block of Clay Creek Road. Chief 23(Cole) responded at 1529 hours, and was advised by CCFB of a tree down on a car with 1 victim trapped. Chief 23 arrived at 1532 hours confirming the report and established "Clay Creek Command". Rescue 23 arrived at 1534 hours, secured the tree on the car, and used the "Hurst Tool" to pop the door and removed the victim with-in minutes. The patient was transported to Christiana Hospital by West Grove Ambulance and SCCEMS. Fire police shut the road down around the accident scene. Final units cleared at 1629 hours.
Thanks to London Grove TWP for responding to the scene with their loader to remove the tree off the vehicle.
