The 9/11 Memorial Garden

It is Avondale Fire Company's honor to host a community 9/11 Memorial Garden on the firehouse property.  This memorial garden was built by Boy Scout Troop 191 to honor the 2,983 people who lost their lives, including the 343 firefighters of the New York City Fire Department (FDNY), in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The memorial garden is constructed in a raised pentagon-shaped planting bed, which features two steel beams from the World Trade Center and a memorial plaque for the passengers and crew of United Airlines Flight 93.

The 9/11 Memorial Garden is open to the public.
