The Avondale members and career staff were joined by Chief (94-60) Collins and Sergeant Barns from Medic 94 for our weekly training night. The medic 94 staff instructed Avondale members on how to assist them in emergencies in which firefighters and EMTs can assist on the scene. The staff of Medic 94 went over all the equipment they carry and let us handle it. Crews were taught about the new cardiac monitors and how to assist in putting in an IV pole. As some may not know, Medic 94 has a shared bay with Avondale and is stationed with us 24/7 to respond in a timely manner.
We thank Chief Collins and Sergeant Barns in taking time out of their busy schedules to assist Avondale in learning about the equipment they use on a daily basis.
