The Avondale Fire Company was alerted to the intersection of West Cypress Street and Scarlett Road for a reported auto accident at 2222 hours. Chief 23 along with Ambulance 23 responded at 2223 hours and received updated information that an additional caller stated there were two patients trapped. Chief 23 added an additional BLS unit and medic unit, which alerted MICU125 and Medic 94. Captain 23 arrived and found a two vehicle accident with two patients trapped in the passenger side of the vehicle. Chief 23 arrived and established the "Avondale Command", while arriving EMS units handled patient care. Squad 23 arrived on scene, deployed their rescue equipment and started vehicle extrication. Crews removed the passenger side rear door and "B" post of the vehicle for patient removal. In total, four patients were transported to nearby hospitals
