At 0746 hours, the Avondale Fire Company was dispatched to Giorgio Mushrooms in the 1300 Block of Newark Road in New Garden Township for a reported automobile fire.

Chief, Squad, and Ambulance went responding right after dispatch and were advised by Chester County Fireboard of one vehicle on fire with exposure to adjacent vehicles.

Southern Chester County Regional Police arrived on location and confirmed an active fire from the sedan spreading to an adjoining pick-up truck.

Chief, Squad, and Ambulance all arrived on location at 0753 hours.

Chief 23 established Avondale Command and requested an additional tanker for extra water due to the possibility of additional vehicles catching fire. Longwood Fire Company's tanker was added to assist. The Squad crew deployed a 1.75" handline, making a quick knock down of the fire on both vehicles.

The fire was placed under control at 0757 hours.

It was determined that Tanker 25-1 would not be utilized and was returned by the command. Crews operated on the scene for just over 35 minutes before clearing.
