While multiple members were out of town attending the FDIC Training, the company was dispatched Monday morning at 0739 hours for a fire type unknown in the 900 block of Penn Green Road. Seconds later the 911 call center was receiving calls for fire coming from a building in the same area. The dispatch center upgraded the incident to a building fire adding West Grove, Kennett, Hockessin, Longwood for RIT and a MICU. Assistant 23 (Bessicks) arrived at 0746, advising visible fire showing from a garage door. Engine 23-2 arrived pulling a hand-line and made quick work of extinguishing the fire. Crews checked for extensions in the ceiling and roof area. The fire was out and command down sized the incident to units on location. Crews handled ventilation and over-haul. CCFM (Chester County Fire Marshall) arrived and investigated the cause of the fire. Crews finished over-haul. Final units were cleared at 0901 hours.
