The Avondale Fire Company was dispatched to an automobile accident on January 11, 2017 at 0625 hours. Ambulance 23-2 and Deputy 23 responded and were advised to use caution in the area of the accident due to icy conditions and a white blazer into the guardrail. Ambulance 23-2 arrived with one into the guardrail. Rescue 23 arrived and took a blocking position and secured the vehicle. Due to the roads being icy, Deputy 23 reduced the incident to the fire police on scene to assist Rivera’s towing with traffic.

After clearing the first accident, crews returned and then were dispatched at 0800 hours for an accident in front of 466 Church Road. Deputy 23 arrived and found one vehicle into a ditch with one patient down on the side of the road. Ambulance 23-1 arrived and transported one patient to the hospital. Rescue 23 arrived and secured the battery and assisted Blittersdorf’s towing with cleaning debris on the roadway. Final units cleared around 0830 hours.
