Shortly after 1 am on Saturday morning, the Avondale Fire Company was dispatched to the Basciani Foods in the 900 Block of Penn Green Road in New Garden Township for a reported box truck on fire.

Chief 23 went responding shortly after dispatch and was informed by Chester County Fireboard that a box truck's reefer system caught fire and was possibly spreading to adjacent trailers. Southern Chester Regional Police arrived on location and confirmed the report of a box truck on fire possibly spreading to the surrounding trailers.

Chief, Deputy, Engine 2, and EMS arrived on the scene. Chief 23 established "Avondale Command", while crews from the Engine deployed a 200' attack line and began extinguishing efforts. Crews held the fire to the original box truck. Overhaul was completed and the company cleared the incident.
